Pine Cone Realty: Uniting Hearts and Homes

For over 45 years, Arleen Boyd, owner of Pine Cone Realty, has called Norwood home. Moving from Malibu, California, in 1979, she found her place here after visiting a friend on the ski patrol. “I came to visit my girlfriend, Mona Wilcox, who was on the ski patrol and never looked back,” she says. As she shifted from a career as a Dental Hygienist to becoming a Real Estate Broker, Arleen has watched Norwood evolve and has played a vital role in its growth.

Opening Pine Cone Realty in 2008, she chose a location in the heart of town. “It has been fun watching the entire community walk by going to the post office for the last 20 years,” she reflects. This location has given her the opportunity to connect with residents on a personal level, helping them find their dream homes or move on to new chapters in life. “The town has been very supportive,” she said. “I have made very good friends in the process.”

Arleen’s contributions to Norwood extend far beyond real estate. For nearly 30 years, she served on the Norwood Fire Department, joining as an EMT in 1990 and becoming one of the first two paramedics in San Miguel County in 1996. That same year, she took on the challenge of providing after-hours care when the local Medical Center stopped offering it. “I also taught the Emergency Medical classes here, EMT, EMT-I, CPR, ACLS, and IV classes for the community,” she shared, adding that introducing Automatic Defibrillators to public spaces was one of her proudest achievements.

Her commitment to the community is evident in how she approaches her real estate business. “I have been told that I treat my clients just like I did my patients all those years, acting as their advocate and always putting their needs first,” she stated. Helping clients buy or sell their homes is more than just a transaction—it’s a way to ensure they find happiness and fulfillment in Norwood, just as she has.

Looking ahead, Arlene plans to continue growing her business and helping the community with its real estate needs. “I welcome any community member to stop in my office if they need any real estate advice or just to chat,” she commented.

All these years later, Arleen/s love for Norwood is as strong today as it was the first time she drove up Norwood Hill. “It was a feeling of exhilaration. I never wanted to live anywhere else after finding Norwood,” she says. To her, the community is about more than a place, it’s about people looking out for one another and creating a supportive, thriving environment. “I care deeply, and I will always do my part to help it grow and thrive.”

Pine Cone Realty is more than a business; it’s a reflection of her enduring connection to Norwood and its residents. To find out more, give Arleen a call at (970) 327-4144, stop by the physical location at 1533 Grand Avenue. or visit norwoodcorealestate.com.
