Situated just to the west of Norwood lie the towns of Redvale, Naturita, Nucla, Bedrock, and Paradox, all served by the Nucla-Naturita Area Chamber of Commerce (NNACC). Their mission is straightforward: to promote local businesses, encourage new residents to call the region home, promote cultural history and heritage, and invite visitors to experience everything the area has to offer.
“We may be several small towns, but we are one Great Community,” is NNACC’s motto.
Formed on September 11, 1985, the NNACC presently consists of five board members. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to organize events, manage programs, and address the needs of their members. An election is currently being held to fill two additional seats on the board.
“The NNACC just finished our holiday events, including the West End Parade of Lights and Elfin Eve,” stated Paula Brown, NNACC Executive Director. “We are now planning the annual membership banquet, slated for February 15th (a Valentine’s Day soiree). Our event committees are busy organizing the 3rd Annual Naturita Pack Burro Race (May 17th) and the Annual West End 4X4 Jeep Tour (June 14).”
As NNACC focuses on strengthening their community, the benefits naturally extend to neighboring areas, including Norwood. As an active member of the Norwood Chamber of Commerce of Wright’s Mesa, they provide a valuable network of support for businesses and residents, fostering connections that benefit the region as a whole. “We are partners, working together,” Paula said.
Through its events, programs, and partnerships, NNACC helps to create opportunities for collaboration and improvement across the West End. By encouraging businesses to network and residents to engage with their community, NNACC is building a foundation for long-term success.
The organization takes pride in its ability to adapt and grow with the needs of the West End and beyond, ensuring that both businesses and residents feel supported and connected.
“In 2025, we will continue our NNACC member programs including quarterly Perk Before Work and Round Table Luncheon gatherings,” Paula went on to say.
Every four weeks, a Business of the Month is recognized, highlighting the achievements and contributions of local enterprises to the community.
Whether it’s through advocating for local businesses, creating new opportunities for growth, or working hand-in-hand on shared projects and events, the Nucla Naturita Area Chamber of Commerce is an example of the spirit of partnership that binds small-town communities like ours together.
NNACC is located at 230 West Main Street in Naturita. Meetings are held the third Thursday of every month. To find out more about the organization or to inquire about membership, visit their website at nucla-naturita.com or call 970-865-2350.
