Jim and Gretchen have lived in their home near the vacation rental for over 40 years. When it was being built, they vowed to buy the property if it ever became available. In 2005, it went up for sale and they wasted no time making it their own. They named it the JAM Ranch in honor of their three grown children – Jon, Adam, and Mary. Between their children and their families visiting and renting it out, the ranch has become a dream come true.
“I feel like it’s a needed business here in Norwood,” said Gretchen.
In addition to providing a charming getaway, JAM Ranch also financially contributes to the community. Every rental indirectly supports local businesses, as guests often dine out, shop, and participate in local activities, funneling money directly into Norwood’s economy. This cycle of spending helps sustain and grow the local market, making JAM Ranch not just a retreat, but a vital part of the town. Jim and Gretchen also generously donate to multiple causes and events such the recent Music on the Mesa.
“We’ve been here a long time and love Norwood,” Gretchen remarked. “And our grandkids love it which is very important to us.”
