9/24/2022 – Pioneer Day Live Music @ The Livery: B Forrest
Grit, soul, and folk from B Forrest
In keeping with its mission to bring arts and live entertainment to Norwood, The Livery has booked recently transplanted Norwood resident and winner of the 2020 John Lennon Songwriting Contest to share his stories and solo twang on Saturday, September 24.
“A compelling voice that cuts through the din of the modern soundscape, with fluid guitar chops
that parallel visceral vocals, via songs that deliver message and meaning.” – Audible Paint
B Forrest is an award-winning Americana singer-songwriter and guitarist from Chicago and Southwest Colorado. After music school (North Park University), he spent time traveling the globe refining his calling card folk-soul album Back to Bodhi. Upon returning to his hometown he was awarded a City of Chicago Individual Artist Grant in 2017, again in 2019 (a National Endowments of the Arts grant), and in 2020 was a winner of the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest. 2021 saw his return to roots music with the release of Oihana, followed shortly by The Brooklyn Session (with Duncan Wickel of Rising Appalachia). In June of 2022 he released the lead single “Song for John Prine” (with Dominick Leslie of Molly Tuttle) as a nod to his forthcoming bluegrass inspired LP “Daydreaming Music Fiend”. A seasoned performer, when not out on the road touring, he splits his time between Norwood, Colorado and Chicago, Illinois. More info and discography.
Doors at 7pm, show at 7:30pm. Cash bar. Tickets available at the door for $10.
