EarthTech West: Digging in for a Better Norwood

by Cheryl Jerabek

For over two decades, EarthTech West has played a significant role in shaping the infrastructure and development of Norwood. The family-owned business, under the leadership of Candy Meehan, has built a reputation on the foundation of trust and quality, characteristics essential in the construction sector. Their focus is on ensuring that every project, no matter its size, is handled with the highest standards of professionalism and attention to detail. This approach has not only earned trust from numerous clients but has also contributed positively to the local economy.

From project planning and technical advisement to design builds, the company specializes in both commercial and residential projects – providing comprehensive construction services such as MSE walls, HDPE pipe laying, and civil earthworks for mining and industrial industries. EarthTech West is committed to addressing the specific needs of each client. This personalized approach has helped EarthTech West maintain its status as a pivotal player in Norwood’s betterment.

Since March of 2022, Candy has served as the town mayor and prior to that was on the Norwood Board of Trustees before stepping in as mayor pro-tem. She is passionately involved in the Norwood community and has a deep understanding of local needs.

Currently Candy is expanding her reach – pursuing a bid for District 3 County Commissioner. She intends to continue to serve the community and has no plans to step down from her position as mayor regardless of the election’s turnout. She is adamant about focusing on positive change without getting wrapped up in the drama that often goes along with politics.

“We don’t live on an island, and we have to work together,” Candy was quoted in the Norwood Post. “Our problems are not geographical. Housing is a crisis all over Colorado. Water. Infrastructure. They’re all challenges, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.”
