Open Gym Activities
Pickleball
The Norwood Park and Recreation District offers a variety of open gym activities, including pickleball. What the heck is pickleball you ask? Pickleball is a paddleball sport that blends tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball over a net.
Indoor Climbing
Did you know Norwood has a climbing wall? That’s right, the Charlie Fowler Memorial Climbing Wall, dedicated to Norwood’s local legend himself! The Norwood Park and Recreation District offers open gym climbing every Monday and Friday evening at the Charlie Fowler Memorial Climbing Wall, located within Primetime Early Learning Center.

Hit The Gym
Kick the holiday pounds and get in shape this winter! Peak Fitness is Norwood’s complete fitness facility, providing 24-hour gym access with cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights, an exercise studio as well as personal training.
The Livery
The Livery is the place to be for zumba, tabata and step and sculpt fitness classes. In partnership with the Norwood Park and Recreation District, Wide Sky Arts Collective also offers a variety of dance, art, music and theater classes for all ages.
Activities at the Lone Cone Library
Just For Kids
Are your kids bored from being cooped up inside? The Lone Cone Library offers a variety of activities for the little ones, including Lonecone Littles Story Time for children five and under, Drama Club for kids aged six to twelve, STEM activities with Pinhead Institute, Homework Club and reading programs for teens.

Yoga
Join Basic Yoga and be inspired to eat healthier for your body and mind. Yoga For Health is an all ages yoga class geared to raise vibrations and feel great, followed with optional 15 minute health coaching and general tips. Yoga Flow is an uptempo class with mostly standing poses with some inversions. Yin Yoga is therapeutic and features longer holds for fascia release. Yin yoga features seated and laying down poses.

Get Outside!
Nordic Activities
In partnership with the Norwood Park and Recreation District, the Norwood Nordic Association grooms and maintains 2.3 miles of groomed trails and 4.9 miles of non-groomed cross country routes at Busted Arm Draw, located 13 miles South of Norwood off Lone Cone Road.
Fat Biking
Norwood offers ample opportunities for fat biking around Lone Cone Mountain and Beaver Park. Trails are maintained and groomed by the West End Sledders throughout the winter. Snowmobiling

Hit the slopes
Telluride Ski Resort is a world-class skiing destination, located just 40 minutes from Norwood. Ski and stay vacations are easy in Norwood with lodging opportunities half of the cost of Telluride. Ice Skating
Ice skating and ice hockey are popular winter activities in the region. Once the temperatures are cold enough for water to freeze, a group of residents maintain an ice skating area on the pond and the San Miguel County Park, located just 20 minutes from Norwood, down valley from Telluride.
Ice Climbing
Are picks and crampons your thing? There are numerous waterfalls near Norwood that are prime for ice climbing. Bridal Veil Falls, Bear Creek Falls Cornet Creek and Ames Falls are popular ice climbing destinations around Telluride, just 40 minutes from Norwood. Located just an hour from Norwood is the world-famous ice climbing destination, the Ouray Ice Park, which offers climbing routes for all ages and abilities. Be sure to soak in the Ouray Hot Springs or Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgway on your way back to Norwood!
