If you’ve ever launched a new business, dealt with a real estate transaction, or needed legal guidance for a will or property transfer, chances are good you’ve met Sara Bachman, Attorney at Law and owner of Bachman Law, LLC.
Sara is a native of Nucla. Having grown up on a local ranch, she developed a heartfelt appreciation for the landscape and its people early on. After graduating high school, she went off to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wyoming, and ultimately, a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming. With a law degree in hand and a small family by her side, she returned to her roots to establish her legal practice in 2016.
Located at 140 E. Main St. in Naturita, Bachman Law, LLC offers various estate planning services, including revocable trusts, wills, beneficiary designations, and powers of attorney. The firm specializes in farm and ranch legacy planning and family succession. Furthermore, Bachman Law, LLC assists in the formation, establishment, and maintenance of limited liability companies (LLCs), handles business sales and purchases and services related to real estate transactions such as property sales and purchases.
Sara attributes a great deal of her business’ success to her paralegals, Cimmy Alexander and Maria Smuin, who are long-time area locals. “I am very lucky to have Cimmy and Maria on my team,” Sara commented, “They both do a fantastic job at communicating with our clients and helping to guide them through their matters. We often work with people during the worst times in their lives, and it is important for us to provide them with the support necessary to help them through their trial.”
Sara strives to create a positive impact on the lives of her clients. Her empathetic approach and extensive legal knowledge make her a trusted advocate for the local citizens. “On average, we provide about 65 hours per year of informal pro bono legal services mostly by way of legal consultations but occasionally working on more complex matters,” she stated. “These services are provided on a case-by-case basis and not through a referral service or formal program.”
Sara is not only deeply committed to addressing the legal needs of the area, but she is also passionate about serving the community. She is the President of the West End Pay it Forward Trust, sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Telluride Foundation as a representative for the West End where she advocates for the West End of Montrose County as well as the West End of San Miguel County. In addition, Sara is a member of the Norwood Chamber of Commerce of Wright’s Mesa
“While my business front is located in Naturita, it is important for me to be a part of Norwood’s Chamber of Commerce,” Sara explained. “We feel as much a part of the Norwood community as the West End community, and as such we feel that it is important to support Norwood organizations.”
Sara’s impact on the West End is undeniable. Her dedication, expertise, and genuine care for her community have earned her a special place in the hearts of the people she serves.
Sara’s journey from Nucla to the world of law and back again is an inspiring tale of hometown pride, determination, and community spirit. When Sara isn’t busy working for a client or serving the community, she is spending cherished time with her husband and two young daughters because according to Sara, that is what it’s all about.
