☝ What do Jacks Marbles, hopscotch and kick the can have in common? They are games from yesterday that only certain generations have memories of playing…with the onset of technology and manufacturing these games have all but been forgotten.
But this year at the 2015 Pioneer Day Celebration the theme is
“work and play of yesteryear.”
There is a chance that these games might get a chance to live once more. Possibly on a float or maybe at the street games, potentially introducing them to a younger generation.
But the theme is not only about play of yesteryear, it also includes the work of yesteryear. This is a chance to rmember just how tough daily life must have been for settlers of the west. Of course, they did not see it this way, they were just living the dream!
